FAQs
How to get started?
If you're interested in setting up a consultation with me, you can send an email to hello@jakehorowitz.com and tell me a little about yourself and what you hope to work on in therapy. I will reach out to set up a free 20-minute phone consultation to determine if we might be a fit for working together.
How will we meet?
I see clients in-person in my Center City office, but I am also available to meet virtually with clients (as long as they are a PA resident) using a secure, HIPAA compliant platform.
How long are sessions and what is your fee?
Sessions are 50 minutes long at a rate of $150/session
Is there a sliding scale for therapy?
Yes. I currently reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients with financial need. If this applies to you, let me know and we can discuss further.
Do you take insurance?
No. I am considered an out-of-network provider. Depending on your insurance policy’s out-of-network benefits, you may be able to be partially reimbursed for out-of-network mental health services. I encourage you to reach out to your insurance company to understand what options might be available to you. I can provide a monthly superbill (itemized receipt of services) upon request.
What is your background and approach? What are your credentials?
I am a Pennsylvania licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. For more information on my background, please visit the About page.
How to prepare for a virtual session?
I recommend clients make themselves comfortable in a private space. If possible, it can be useful to take your session in a different area from where you work. Some find it helpful to to bring water, tissues or even a notebook with them, in case there’s something discussed that they would like to jot down.
